Many people don’t like to get too hands-on with their job. Of course, most jobs require the use of your hands to some degree. But the jobs I’m talking about here are for those with real talent when it comes to their hands. They have steadiness, precision – and they love to get hands-on. Here are some jobs you may want to consider.
Electrician
Electricians have to be very careful when they do their work. Especially because of, y’know, all the electricity. But it’s not just about the kind of precision that could prevent you from being electrocuted. It’s also about working with tangles of wires – and we all know that wire tangles are the sworn enemy of those with butterfingers.
Cooking
Cooking a good meal doesn’t always involve tools and cutlery, after all. Sometimes it requires you to get hands-on, or to at least be incredibly nuanced with said tools. Rubbing, pounding, grinding, sprinkling – all of these techniques are often best done with your two bare hands. Well, maybe not bare. You might be required to wear something hygienic over them. But that doesn’t make them any less hands, you know. Stay on the lookout for cooking jobs if you’re interested.
Masseuse
Here is one of my ultimate nuggets of wisdom which I’m passing onto you exclusively through this blog. We don’t have enough people willing to massage others. You could take advantage of this shortage by looking into getting work as a masseuse. People seem to underestimate just how good a massage can be for you. If basic massaging seems to simple for you, then you could look into a variety of different techniques. Reiki training could be more your thing.
Carpenter
People think of carpenters and think immediately of really old-fashioned work. Or Jesus. Or the band. (Wrong carpenters, guys.) But a good carpenter is always in demand. Carving and repairing furniture, ornaments, boxes – even helping to build homes. As long as you don’t mind the occasional splinter, carpentry could be perfect for you.
Surgeon
You may have been hoping I wouldn’t mention this one. After all, it’s not as if you can just get up from your seat right now and apply to be a surgeon. It takes a lot of time (and a disturbing amount of money) to get the right education for it. But still, it deserves a mention. After all, if there’s anyone we’re using the services of that we really need to be good with their hands, it’s a surgeon, right?
Artistry
Some of you may have laughed when you read that. Some of you may have rolled their eyes and produced a somber chuckle. Let’s face it: making a living through art isn’t the easiest thing to achieve. But why not give it a go? If you’re good at drawing and painting, why not try to make a living out of it? Don’t let the admittedly-slim chances of making tons of cash with it put you off. If you’re good at it and you enjoy it, then get stuck in as much as you can. There are more way to raise cash from it than you may think.
