DESIGNER
Coastal Living seeks a designer to join our talented, energetic staff based in Birmingham, Alabama. This key member of the art department should be able to work efficiently to meet firm deadlines and juggle multiple layouts at once. Applicants must be detail-oriented, have a strong sense of typography, and be willing to take direction.

The designer will be creating dynamic layouts for all sections of the magazine, assigning illustration, and directing shoots for some product pages. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of magazine editorial experience. (Candidates with less experience that can demonstrate strong design skills achieved through work and/or internships will be considered.) The designer will report to the magazine’s design director and work closely with the deputy design director. Expert knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Woodwing is required.
