You need to go the extra mile

When you are a relatively new company, it can be a challenge to win over a company. After  all, they might not have heard of you before, so are more likely to go with a competitor. But to ensure they take you on, you need to go the extra mile to win over their business. For example, if their business is miles away, you need to make the trip to visit them and tell them about your company. And you might want to offer them a superb discount. If you go the extra mile with potential clients, they are also more likely to tell other businesses about you. So you are bound to get work in the future from other clients if you do a good job with this one!

You need to look professional

Even if you are just working in your spare room, you need to look professional to potential clients. Therefore, make sure you hire out rooms when it comes to meetings. And make sure you hire good equipment so that you can create high-quality work. You should also invest in some of the latest technology. For example, you might want an iPad with a projector which will go down well at meetings. And you should also look into mobile merchant services that will allow you to take payments during meetings. That way, you can get a deposit for work which will secure a deal with the client.

You need to network

If you want to pick up clients, the most important thing you should do is network. After all, it’s the best way to find people who might be interested in your work. Therefore, you should attend trade shows and socialize. You should also introduce yourself to people in the industry who can tell you about clients. Also, it would be wise to email a list of businesses who you think would require your work. Let them know what’s occurring in your business and introduce yourself. That way, they will know about your business.

You need to build an online profile

In the modern age, it’s so important to make sure you are building up your online profile. You need a good website which shows off your product. And then you need to implement SEO so that people will find you on Google. Also, you should consider starting social media pages. Just make sure you are careful about taking clients on that you meet online. After all, you might do the work and then they might never pay you! Therefore, always speak to them over the phone before doing the work.

And remember to make sure you are clear about your business and it’s unique selling point so that you can gain your first client.
