If you’ve got a knack for selling, chances are you probably know it. Some people are simply born with the knack to be able to sell anything to another person, no matter how hard it may seem. After all, we’ve all heard the variants of the phrase ‘he/she could sell ice to an Eskimo.’

If you can push an item or a service in a situation that others would deem impossible, chances are you’ve probably got quite the knack for selling. In of your career prospects, this can be a huge advantage. Business relies very heavily on sales, and on people’s ability to sell to a target market even in a difficult environment. Fundraising

When most of us think of sales, we think of a hardened, corporate business environment, with lots of stress and competition. Many people thrive in this kind of high-octane environment, but for others, it can be overly intimidating.

Plus, you may also have a yearning put your time into a humanitarian cause and do something with your life that benefits other people. In this instant, charity fundraising can be a great way to put your sales skills to good use while still working for the greater good. There are many different things a fundraiser might do to gather support (financial or otherwise) for their cause.

You may work as part of a street team targeting members of the public (so good communication skills are essential too), or you may work behind the scenes, organizing and running events that put your cause in the spotlight.

Online selling

Traditional sales practices tend to involve selling face to face, or over the phone. However, there is no denying that we now live in the digital age, and therefore any good salesperson also has to be proficient in online selling too. If you work in a sales position within a business, or if you run your company, take a look at your online portal.

Is your website designed in a way that promotes an easy sale for your customer, or is the process long and convoluted? If so, you may want to look into packages for marketplace solution. The vast majority of customers want a smooth and effortless sale, so make sure your website can provide them with this.

Travel agent

Being a travel agent is a great way to combine your love of travel and your ability to sell pretty much anything. You will work in a largely customer facing role and will have to juggle a lot of different things at once, such as accommodation, destination, and transport.

This requires an ability to stay on top of your game at all times, and to support your client from start to finish so you can secure your their dream vacation. Travel agents often work on a commission basis, so if you are good at it, there is also money to be made.
