“Food Technologist in Indianapolis, IN Heartland is a global leader in the consumer packaged foods industry, supplying store brand solutions for the retail and foodservice markets. The Food Technologist will assist in new product development and perform standardized qualitative and quantitative tests to determine stability of food or beverage products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide assistance to food scientists in new product development, scale up and plant trials. Conduct sensory tests and shelf-life / stability studies on new products. Conduct standardized tests on food and beverages to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. Compute moisture, percentages of ingredients, formulas, or other product factors, using mathematical and chemical procedures. Apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in analyzing products. Taste or smell foods or beverages to ensure that flavors meet specifications or to select samples with specific characteristics. Record or compile test results or prepare graphs, charts, or reports. Maintain clean laboratory.
